Brazing refers to the welding method in which the brazing material below the melting point of the workpiece and the workpiece are heated to the melting temperature of the brazing material, and the gaps in the solid workpiece are filled with liquid brazing material to connect the metals. According to the different melting points of brazing materials, brazing can be divided into hard brazing and soft brazing. Brazing has small deformation, smooth and beautiful joints, suitable for welding precision, complex and components composed of different materials, such as honeycomb structure plates, turbine blades, hard alloy cutting tools and printed circuit boards. Before brazing, the workpiece must be carefully processed and strictly cleaned to remove oil stains and excessive oxide film, ensuring the clearance of interface assembly. The gap is generally required to be between 0.01 and 0.1 millimeters. Compared to fusion welding, during brazing, the base material does not melt, only the brazing material melts; Compared to pressure welding, brazing does not apply pressure to the welded part. The weld formed by brazing is called a brazed joint. The filler metal used for brazing is called brazing material. Brazing process: The surface cleaned workpieces are assembled together in an overlapping manner, and the brazing material is placed near or between the joint gaps. When the workpiece and the brazing material are heated to a temperature slightly higher than the melting point of the brazing material, the brazing material melts (the workpiece is not melted) and is sucked in and filled between the solid workpiece gaps by capillary action. The liquid brazing material diffuses and dissolves with the workpiece metal, and condenses to form a brazed joint.
Application characteristics of induction brazing:
1. The brazing heating temperature is low, the joint is smooth and flat, the microstructure and mechanical properties change little, the deformation is small, and the workpiece size is precise.
2. It can weld the same metal or different materials, and there is no strict limit on the thickness difference of the workpiece.
3. Some brazing methods can simultaneously weld multiple welded parts and joints, with high productivity.
4. The brazing equipment is simple and the production investment cost is low.
5. The joint has low strength, poor heat resistance, and strict cleaning requirements before welding, resulting in expensive brazing materials.
